The Central Axis
The Central Axis is a project that concerns the construction of a two-lane highway from Dokkum to Nijega, area development included. It is the most important highway in the area.
It will divert traffic from smaller, local roads and it will enhance the traffic safety in the villages. Moreover, the highway will ensure improved accessibility within the area of approximately 7,000 ha. It will also entail a significant quality impulse to the landscape, agriculture, recreation, nature and tourism.
Area development
On the 7th of October the road has been festively opened. The attention of the project organisation now turns to the task of area development.
Henk Blok, partner of Triple Bridge, is responsible for managing the realisation of the Central Axis.
