Ring Road South Groningen

On the 18th of September Aanpak Ring Zuid and Combinatie Herepoort announced that they would set up a joint commission led by prof. dr. ir. M.J.C.M. Hertogh. The commission was assigned the task to give advice about how Aanpak Ring Zuid and Combinatie Heerepoort could deal the best with problems they were facing. On the 20th of December 2018 the rapport, titled Waar een wil is, komt een weg, was presented by the chairman of the commission.

On the 28th of March 2019 the minister presented the report to the Dutch House of Representatives, in which was indicated that the commission had concluded that to continue the project without contract chances, is starting point for the recommendations for improvements, because there were enough clues for improvement. The commission advises seven recommendations how to deal with the problems and deadlocks from the past, and to improve the progress of the project Aanpak Ring Zuid. In the previous period, under supervision of Marcel Hertogh, ARZ and CHP worked together constructively on the practical implications of the recommendations. These recommendations were made using the example of the project Helperzoomtunnel. This made it possible to slide in the Helperzoomtunnel underneath the rail way in the Summer of 2019. On the 12th March 2019, this has been announced to the people in the neighborhood of the project.
